Esistono in commercio numerosi casi di contraffazione dei marchi di garanzia, ed è bene ricordare che occhiali da sole di bassa qualità, specie se usati in condizioni estreme (come sui ghiacciai), possono generare gravi danni alla retina o portare alla cecità temporanea.
